Carlynton plans spaghetti dinner fundraiser for LA Fitness victim

Please come and support the fundraiser being held for Carlynton School District alumnus Heather Sherba, who was wounded in the LA Fitness shooting in August.

A spaghetti dinner will be held at Carlynton High School on Saturday from 3 to 7 p.m.

• Birthday greetings to Joan Cantley of Carnegie, who will celebrate her 78th on Sunday.

Joan is the mother of Bobbi Jo, Chris, Marc "Hush" (wife Kathleen), Rick, and the late Donnie. She is the grandmother of Rick Jr., Jackie Hertzler, Jeremy, Donnie, Jordan, Justin, Kaitlin, Brandan and the late Jenny. Joan is great-grandma to Journie and Paige Cantley, and Elizabeth and Hope Mae Hertzler.

• Clara Bielecki of Glendale celebrates her birthday on Friday.

• Jean (Scisciani) and Gary Brandebura of Carnegie celebrate their 18th wedding anniversary on Monday.

Jean and Gary are the parents of two daughters, Hannah and Lindsey. Hannah will celebrate her 13th birthday on Oct. 31.

• Thinking of Beatrice Johnson of Chartiers Terrace, who celebrates her birthday on Monday with a dinner and movie with daughter Terri and Mikey.

• Dave Colonna of Rosslyn Heights celebrates the "Big 60" on Saturday.

Dave is the husband of Paulette and they have two sons, Dan and Christopher.

They will have a celebration at Scores Restaurant in Pennsbury Village for family and friends.

• Birthdays this week include Kristen Popovich, Kristi Megyesy, Tim Castello, Linda (Valentine) Walnoha, Adrienne Arenson and Zachary Zombek.

• Donna Harty of Glendale celebrates her birthday on Oct. 27.

• Happy 56th wedding anniversary to Sally and John Pruss of Carnegie, who celebrate on Saturday.

They are the parents of John, Jeff, Jimmy, Judy, Joey and Jesse. Sally and John have 12 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

• Happy first birthday to Sophia Grace Hathaway, who celebrates on Oct. 31.

Sophia is the daughter of Leah and Jake Hathaway of Scott Township.

• Linda Mancini and Lucille Lardieri of Cubbage Hill enjoyed their two-week vacation cruise to Honolulu and surrounding islands.

The highlight of the trip was Linda taking surfing lessons and Lucille enjoying the volcanoes.

• Kristen Shorts Dunn of Glendale celebrates her birthday on Saturday with her husband, Brian.

• Louisa (Oliver) Klapach of Rosslyn Heights celebrated her birthday on Oct. 11. She has three daughters, Linda Schoen, JoMarie and Cheryl DeRiso.She also has eight grandchildren and a great-granddaughter.

• Daughter JoMarie Klapach celebrates her birthday on Saturday, and grandson, Tony Deriso celebrated his 24th on Oct. 19

• Happy 33rd birthday to Melissa Salerno, who celebrates Friday.

Melissa is a dispatcher for Allegheny County.

• The Christian Mothers and Guild will sponsor their annual "Bread Basket Sale" Nov. 7 and Nov. 8 before and after all St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Masses. Many varieties of bread will be available, including pepperoni rolls, blueberry, cranberry, zucchini and pumpkin breads, coffee cakes and muffins.

• Happy 20th birthday to Katie McMullin, who celebrates on Oct. 29. Katie is the daughter of Nancy (Bryan) and Chris McMullin.

• Lorrie (Funaro) and Theodore Hatcher of East Carnegie celebrate their 28th wedding anniversary today, Thursday.

They have four children, Todd, Natalie, Alicia and Desiree, and seven grandbabies, Devin, Cameron, Darrien, Laila, Aniyah, Azana and Zachary.

• Alex Lawrence Ditch will celebrate his fourth birthday on Oct. 28. He is the son of Amanda Kaye (Shick) and Michael Lawrence Ditch.

• Gretchen and Ken Wilson of Carnegie celebrated their 12th wedding anniversary on Oct. 11.Ken will celebrate his birthday on Monday.

Gretchen and Ken are the parents of Kayla and Eddie. Ken is the son of Jeanine and Denzil Wilson of Carnegie.

• Happy seventh birthday to Robby Heinrich, who celebrates on Monday.

Robby is the son of Shawn and Meghan Heinrich and is big brother to Shawn Jr. and Tyler.

• Welcome back to Carnegie Della and Mark Iacono, who visited former Carnegie residents Louise and David Burne and family in Charleston, S.C. A lot of shopping, eating and sightseeing made the annual trip memorable.

• Happy third birthday to Emma Jafarace, who celebrates on Saturday. Little Emma is the daughter of Jennifer and Victor Jafarace and has a big brother, Austin.
